Welcome to Food Fashion Party, a place where I talk about food, stories of how that came about, its simplicity, and how we can entertain with finesse without all the fuss. I consider food to be an ART. That being said, I’m definitely the least artistic person, so I don’t know how, in my own way, I became an artist…
Being creative with food and making it look every bit fancy, yet keeping it simple to make is what I strive for.
I am Indian and love mixing Indian spices with different cuisines, to create a very delicate and perfectly balanced concoction. Most of my food has a touch of Indian spices, but in a modern way.
Behind The Food
Hi I’m Asha. I live in SFO. I’m a mom, foodie, an artist (in my mind), a food photographer, experimenter, and an entertainer. I love creating new dishes, and I’m quite proud and not so humble about it.
When I married and moved to the United States, jumping into a whole new world, I found cooking and feeding to be a solace. Then, I didn’t know that it would become my passion, hobby and something I crave to do everyday… After having cooked and baked for many years now, I enjoy delving into a good mix of spices and tastes from all around the world. It’s all about experimentation, and I can, without a doubt, say I learn something new everyday. Cooking is therapeutic for me, and most of all, it allows my creativity to be shown.
I’m a stay at home mum to two lovely boys and a husband who has a smile always. They’re my inspiration in every step, and also the brains behind the scenes.
I’ve learnt so much from my Mom, Amma, friends and family, this blog was born because of them. And, perhaps most importantly, this blog has flourished because of YOU, my viewers and followers. I love you all.
This blog has been a blessing, I feel accomplished in many ways. From watching reruns of I Love Lucy, YouTube make up videos, and hovering over the boys to get work done, to learning html, patience, persistence and perseverance (a load of P’s)… It is fun.
Behind the Lens
My hubby, G as he is fondly called by many, is the artistic one among the two of us. He is pretty good with the camera and how it works. He understands lighting and how it affects food to a certain level. He definitely helps me with my photographs. I am more confident when he’s standing watching me while I take pictures, even if he’s not actively helping. A great guy who has a smile always, helps me to be calm and sane at times when I need it the most. I LOVE him.
