Red Velvet Cookies are a must make for Christmas. Baking and holiday season is upon us and I’m so happy to be bring this festive recipe for you. Buttery pillows of rich dreamy thumbprint cookies topped with cream cheese and white chocolate mixed in with cashews.

Red velvet cookies or cake is definitely one of the most festive looking treats for Christmas and the holidays. It’s the sweet marriage of cream cheese and vanilla with a little cocoa for good measure. She’s beautiful, dramatic, and completely topped with cream cheese and white chocolate frosting. This is my favorite.

These cookies are a blend of my two favorites, chocolate and vanilla. In my opinion red velvet shouldn’t be overpowered with chocolate. Red velvet desserts to me is a combination of vanilla and chocolate….

These “cookies” are very popular for christmas parties . Practically every cookie tray has this delicious treat. I had this years ago at a party and asked the host to send me the recipe and she did. I asked my friend what she called them and she said they were “chocolate nut cookies.” I asked another friend and he said they were “chocolate slices.”

They do remind me of pinwheels too, but I decided to call them Walnut chocolate pinwheel cookie I. think that’s the most accurate description :).There were 2 surprise ingredients: 1 being condensed milk, but the most surprising was the cream cheese in the crust. Ka’ak. If you have not heard of them, it’s fine, I did not either until my neighbor dropped off some of them to me. It is a crunchy, bold-flavored wreath-like cookies. I have no reference or any sentimentality towards the cookies, but I must say they have become a favorite of mine since. It’s one of those cookies that has a very grown up taste to it. It looks and tastes very outside the box, sort of savory-ish (if that’s a word). After a bit of pestering and almost stalking her, I managed to get the recipe out of her.
