One of the most awaited festivals and celebrated throughout India is Holi. Holi is celebrated in India by the people to get rejuvenated after the months of winter season. People meet, hug, share sweet, play with color, visit their homes together, eat delicious foods, wear new clothes. It a nice way to form a bond, re kindle friendships and camaraderie. It brings out the child in everyone.

It’s a tradition that dates back millenniums. It is the greatest festival of Hindus indicates the triumph of good over evil. It’s a festival that is celebrated over two days and marks the beginning of spring….

It’s Holi!!! It’s the Festival of Colors.

I didn’t really experience Holi when I grew up. We South Indians did not celebrate it. So, my memories are just seeing few of neighbors running around and dunking each other in color.

Some things are deceptively simple; if not, you have to make it simple :). Desserts sometimes look quite deceitful, like this Jalebi. For years I was overwhelmed and never ventured out to make it. I agree, this was not my favorite Indian sweet, until I made it at home. The intense crunch with the sugary syrup coating is simply joyful, a pleasure for your senses.
