You know our love for Waffles.  It’s become one of those staples at home that we enjoy, love, and keep on hand at all times.  This more-ish breakfast of Waffles French Toast is perfect for entertaining, holiday brunches, or just for the two of you.  I am so so excited about this one.

One of my early memories of cooking with dad started with French toast. The planning starts a day ahead at a specialty bakery with the perfect hunk of fresh-out-of-the-oven white bread….

Homemade Dog Treats – Banana and Peanut Butter

December 17, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

The easiest and healthiest homemade dog treats ever.  The banana and peanut butter add so much flavor to these cookies.  Mix, roll, and cut. So easy, and so much better for your canine companions than store-bought!

Homemade dog treats - Banana and Peanut butter |foodfashionparty| #dogtreats

Christmas baking just felt incomplete without baking treats for the four-legged fur baby.  These homemade dog treats are so delicious that my human kids like it too. If you have dogs, you know how important dog treats are.  It’s even better if they are homemade.  I was inspired by a post I saw on dog treats.  Waffles is not the biggest fan of treats or food in general (I know, he is a weird one). To our surprise, he was salivating for this dog treat.  If you make these for your friends who have dogs, they will love you.

Our silly nugget has been with us for more than a year now.  It’s his second Christmas with us.  Like someone said: we can adopt them, but it’s the best feeling when they adopt you.  We rescued Waffles thinking he would be the most affectionate, clingy dog, never being a foot away from us… Boy, were we wrong….

Hot Chocolate in a Stick – Edible gift idea

December 10, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

Rich and decadent, with just four ingredients, hot chocolate in a stick just takes minutes to make.  However, it is devoured slowly and cozily. Perfect for the holidays.

It’s a delicious combo of different kinds of chocolate, condensed milk, with a touch of coffee too.

I saw this on Pinterest a couple of years ago and had pinned it, and I finally decided to make it this year.  Here is the original idea  Inakatrinakitchen. What a delicious idea, and it’s so great for edible gifts.

‘Tis the season of giving, of togetherness and support.  A sensitive subject I’d like to touch upon during this season of giving is giving credit….

Spicy Chicken Fry – Andhra style

December 7, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

I’ve always found this Andhra style hot & spicy chicken fry to be very flavorful, and a cozy dish for winters.  Known for its sizzling items, full of flavor, Andhra cuisine is like none other.  It’s so good.

Spicy Chicken Fry - Andhra style |foodfashionparty| #chickenfry #indianfoodSome of the hottest and spiciest food from South India, they say, is from Andhra Pradesh.  I personally haven’t had any spicy food that I can’t handle, but for most, this would be pretty spicy, but not quite unbearable. Chicken Fry is a staple in many homes, and everyone has their favorites.  Mine has to be my mom’s style pepper chicken, which is my little one’s favorite too.  This Spicy Chicken fry is inspired by the cuisine of Andhra, and quickly, our pepper chicken had some competition.

BEST Coffee-Chocolate Cupcakes with Caramel Mascarpone cream - EGGLESS |foodfashionparty| #coffeecupcake

Say Hello to the best coffee chocolate cupcakes that I’ve made.  The exact recipe that I’ve been making for the last many years, and one of the first recipes I posted on this blog, was this CUPCAKE. The frosting is a beautiful, delicately flavored cream which holds well with a touch of mascarpone.  The coffee is pronounced, but not bitter, and will not keep you up :).  It’s a coffee lover’s dream….

Skillet Roast Chicken with Sumac and Lemon

November 28, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

Skillet Roasted  Chicken Breast with sumac and lemon.  It’s good, easy, healthy lunch or dinner and comes together so quickly.

Skillet Roast Chicken with Sumac and Lemon |foodfashionparty| #skilletchicken This is so so good!!!!!

This skillet roast chicken with sumac and lemons, I love to serve over some plain rice or coconut milk rice and it’s a nice meal in one.  Add some grilled beans or asparagus and even better.  The sumac itself has a very lemony undertone and the fresh lemon juice just adds to the flavor.  Sumac in itself is not spicy, so I like to add a good dose of chili powder or cayenne pepper.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.

I’m always on a quest for simple and easy meals that’s packed with flavor….

Spiced Maple Apple-Persimmon Sangria (+ a Wolf Gourmet Giveaway!)

November 22, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

This festive spiced maple apple persimmon sangria is perfect for your Autumn entertaining, and right on time for Thanksgiving (and for the big giveaway!!).

Spiced Maple Apple-Persimmon Sangria |foodfashionparty| #giveaway #autumncocktail

I’m sitting on the stairs of a playground, typing this post, while watching my little one play with his cricket team.  It’s chilly (at least for me) 45 degree weather.  Wrapped up in a flannel long throw, and a warmer inside my jacket, I’m holding a warm cup of coffee and a beanie.  The skies turn from a beautiful blueish orange to a midnight blue, in seconds.  I can suddenly feel a breeze colder than it was a few minutes ago. All of a sudden, the blazing flood lights turn on, and the child in me blows fog to see how cold it is. All I can think of is how thankful I am that I am on this side of the fence….
