Maple Rum Apple Banana Pudding Cake

October 4, 2018 By Asha Shivakumar

This simple delicious cake bakes so beautifully, with a sauce that forms in the bottom. This maple rum apple pudding cake with banana is a quick dessert to take for potlucks and surprise guests with.

Maple Rum Apple Pudding Cake |foodfashionparty| #applecake #puddingcakeI woke up one morning last week just when the sun was peeking through.  I suddenly felt the need to grab my robe, and I really craved a warm cup of coffee. Autumn. FINALLY. My bones have ached for this season.  I want to believe the fallen leaves that cover our footpath now match the hues of my heart.

Every morning, I sit on the large floor by the tall windows and stare at our neighbor’s apple tree.  It has thrived.  I’ve seen them grow for years, from a tiny sapling to a young tree.  And now they stand proudly with fruits that blush with pinkish reddish hues. Ready to be plucked. The tree very gracefully hovers over our fence calling for us to enjoy her. Wait, is it fair to pluck fruits from someone else’s tree? Not sure. …

Over the TOP Toasted Chocolate Hazelnut S'mores Bars |foodfashionparty| #s'moresbars #hazelnutbarsAs a content creator, I often face a reoccurring problem. Sometimes, I scratch my head pondering on what to post to keep it exciting and interesting, doable, and also something I love to eat. And then there is the photographer’s block.  Last, and worst, is the writer’s block.

I’ve gone through periods where I had to take a break because the content simply wasn’t exciting enough.  Especially after my book, I really hit a wall for few weeks.  Then boom, I had this immense bout of energy to cook, test, shoot and share. But at the end of the day, what do you write for all these posts?…

Avocado Banana Muffins - Dairy free/Gluten free |foodfashionparty| #glutenfreemuffins

A lot of the south Indian recipes are gluten free, the savory stuff and many desserts. When I do bake non Indian I usually stick to gluten, because that works well. In the past many months, every time I make BANANA BREAD  on insta stories, which  by the way is our favorite, I’ve  had so many messages to blog and show how to make gluten free banana bread.  Many times I’ve directed them to Alanna’s cookbook and blog.  She has some amazing gluten free options and great desserts.

But, this is probably the first time I’ve tested with gluten free flour and I have gotten the results that I love.  And here I’m sharing my new favorite gluten free bake. …

Homemade Dog Treats – Banana and Peanut Butter

December 17, 2017 By Asha Shivakumar

The easiest and healthiest homemade dog treats ever.  The banana and peanut butter add so much flavor to these cookies.  Mix, roll, and cut. So easy, and so much better for your canine companions than store-bought!

Homemade dog treats - Banana and Peanut butter |foodfashionparty| #dogtreats

Christmas baking just felt incomplete without baking treats for the four-legged fur baby.  These homemade dog treats are so delicious that my human kids like it too. If you have dogs, you know how important dog treats are.  It’s even better if they are homemade.  I was inspired by a post I saw on dog treats.  Waffles is not the biggest fan of treats or food in general (I know, he is a weird one). To our surprise, he was salivating for this dog treat.  If you make these for your friends who have dogs, they will love you.

Our silly nugget has been with us for more than a year now.  It’s his second Christmas with us.  Like someone said: we can adopt them, but it’s the best feeling when they adopt you.  We rescued Waffles thinking he would be the most affectionate, clingy dog, never being a foot away from us… Boy, were we wrong….
